If you are in Montgomery/Central Alabama tomorrow, you’d be nuts to miss Southern Makers.  It’s a event/exhibition/cultural throwdown that’s happening under the old Train Shed in downtown Montgomery (by the way, if it’s been awhile since you’ve been to downtown Montgomery…. it’s not what you remember)— and they’ve got pretty much every interesting, creative person in the state to come and show off their stuff. 

It just so happens that they asked us to play a set, too.  So we’ll be hitting the stage around 4:00 on Saturday— and the event starts at 2:00.  I’d be there when the doors open.  There will be lots to see and lots to buy, so come prepared.  Hit their website for more info.

Also, we’ll be playing the Southern Makers after-party at Alley Bar in downtown Montgomery that evening.  So don’t miss that, either!

It’s about that time, folks!  The 13th Annual Waverly Boogie is this Saturday at Standard Deluxe in Waverly, AL— and if you haven’t made plans to attend…… well you need to load up that cooler and get on down to Waverly on Saturday.  You really, really need to.

These are truly some of our favorite bands and best friends in one glorious spot.  We’d love to see you there.  It should be a full day of music— so get there in the morning and stay late.  This event is a treasure.

If you can’t make it, we would also like to remind you (and encourage) that Saturday is a perfect day to re-start a healthy habit of shopping at your local record store.  April 20th is Record Store Day, and chances are, your local indie shop will be offering some cool stuff and great deals and events on Saturday.  Pegasus Records is our hometown shop, and in addition to letting our drummer off work to go play music, is a delightful choice if you’re looking for a store to support.  So go do that.

We’ve got a busy weekend ahead, and hopefully you can be a part of it!

First off, we’ll be playing at Furniture Factory in Huntsville, AL this Friday night (04/12).  We’ll start around 8:30 and we’re gonna play for a good while.  Come hear some favorites, some of our favorites— and maybe a surprise or two.  This is our first Huntsville show in a good bit, so we’re pleased to head down 72 to see you guys.

SATURDAY:  We will begin the day at the Alabama Chicken & Egg Festival in Moulton, AL.  Our set begins at 1:00PM.  There are tons of great bands on the bill, including friends like Jason Isbell, Pine Hill Haints and Fiddleworms.  If you are in North or Central Alabama, this would be an excellent way to spend your Saturday… and it’s only $5!

After our set is finished there, we’re gonna bolt on down to Mobile for the SouthSounds Music Festival.  This will be our second year to do this, and we’re thrilled to continue to be a part of this special event.  We will be doing two shows this year— one at 9PM at Malaga Inn (we’re splitting this show with Belle Adair) and then again at MIDNIGHT at Alabama Music Box.  Trust us, Gulf Coasters…. you do not want to miss it!

It’s gonna be a busy weekend, but that’s how we do it.  Hope to see you out!
